Indian Falls United Methodist Church
The ladies of the Methodist Church have been working for the Lord since 1869. Actually, here in Indian Falls, women’s gatherings started back in 1862 but were not formally united with the conference. In 1903, we were known as the Ladies Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church and Women’s Foreign Missionary Society. Then in 1945 our name was changed to “Local Church Activity Group” which was the former Ladies Aid Society and to “Missions” which had been Women’s Foreign Missions. In 1948 the two groups were combined and became the Women’s Society of Christian Service. Later in 1963 our name was again changed to Methodist Women. In 1971 when the United Brethren Church joined the Methodist Church, we became the United Methodist Women.
